80w-140 vs. 85w-140 gear oil My owner's manual recommends either Mobil shc 80w-140 or Castrol safx-t differential oil. Both are no longer made. Is it OK to switch to an 85w-140? Differential is made by BRT with a LSD. (M80, I think).
There is not a significant difference between 80w-140 and 85w-140. You would be safe running 85w-140 in place of 80w-140 gear oil in your differential.
