Possible faulty new EGR valve

Wouldn't recommend, 07 F250 6.0 Check engine light on, but the truck ran great still. Scanned and was advised it was a bad egr valve. Ordered a new Alliant EGR and installed it. Properly cleaned surfaces after taping off the opening and vacuumed out any debris caused by the removal of OEM EGR, etc., drove to work the next morning (roughly 6 miles away), started surging on the freeway and spewing black smoke. limped to work and then home after work and reinstalled the old EGR. Truck runs great again.... check engine light will probably come on again, but running normal. Not sure on return policy or warranty, but will be buying OEM. Buy OEM Motorcraft. wasted almost $200 on a paperweight.
