Adding the PPE 125065000 Transmission Fluid Thermal Bypass Valve is a preventative measure to keep the transmission in your 2017-2019 GM 6.6L Duramax L5P safe. This bypass valve replaces the factory unit that is prone to fail in the open position when there is debris in the fluid. When the stock valve stays in the open position, the transmission fluid isn’t circulated through the transmission cooler. This can cause the fluid to overheat causing premature transmission wear and potential failure due to lack of lubrication. 

The PE 125065000 Transmission Fluid Thermal Bypass Valve removes the restrictive OE mechanical valve and optimizes fluid flow to and from the transmission cooler. A neodymium magnet is attached to a removable plug in this bypass valve that grabs metallic objects in the fluid.
