Description
The PSC SG039 XD Steering Box is an upgrade for the problematic factory unit in your 2001-2007 GM Silverado/Sierra 2500HD/3500HD 4WD Classic Body Style Pickup. The PSC XD Steering Gear features a 45mm sector shaft and bearing to prevent the pitman arm and sector shaft flex that causes the lower seal to fail. Larger teeth and other internal components have been increased in size to handle the loads when increasing tire size on your truck. Fits 4 spline pitman arms only.

Kept hearing mixed reviews on other replacements and decided to do the PSC, turned out great and i did their pitman and idler arms at the same time. Since then i have added the PSC power steering, 2011 hydroboost, kryptonite front end, truck drives great!

First off. ORDER THE PITMAN ARM THEY SUGGEST! Installing the new pitman arm on the new gearbox was easy. I thought the new pitman arm would go further down the splines but low and behold it does not. Also hooking up the steering shaft to the gear box was simple. Just need to open the gap wider so it will fit. Installation of the gear box was simple. The biggest pain was the extension put on the gear case. I’m sure it was used for spacing between the two lines. In my case the fitting leaked like crazy. But after taking out the extension fitting it screwed right in with no leaks or issues. All in all not a hard install. Now after driving the truck for the first time it’s like butter. The steering so smooth. Also I can tell the steering ratio has been increased. I’m very happy with my purchase and will be buying many more parts from xtremediesel !
