Description
Is your wastegate blowing open causing higher EGTs and drivability issues? This high-performance wastegate will keep the valve closed longer to restore lost performance. Under high-boost conditions, the factory actuator's weak spring allows the wastegate to blow open, limiting midrange torque. The Banks BigHead keeps the wastegate closed for faster boost, then controls the opening to maintain peak boost for greater acceleration and mid-range pulling power.
The Banks Power BigHead Wastegate Actuator has twice the diaphragm area and spring pressure of the stock unit, keeping the valve seated longer and achieving a higher peak boost. At peak boost, this actuator opens the wastegate and holds its position, for precise boost control that gives you crisp acceleration and more mid-range pulling power.

If you are doing a billet wheel upgrade, this is a must-have. I also picked up an RHG6 IHI rebuild kit for $120 for good measure since my stock turbo was leaking oil into the housing (only 93k miles on my 03).

I had a leaking waste gate so I replaced it with this one and turned it up a little bit and push 17lbs through 1-4 and 28 in fifth

Are there any modifications needed for my LB7 to handle the boost pressure from this wastegate actuator? I have an 03 GMC LB7 6.6L and except for an intake, exhaust, and cortex programer its a stock truck. Will my truck be able to safely handel this?

This Banks Power High Performance Wastegate Actuator #24396 can certainly be used on a stock LB7 engine, but will perform better in diesels with performance modifications such as an intake, exhaust & programmer.

The Banks Power High Performance Wastegate Actuator 24396 is designed to work with the stock turbo only. Stock LB7 turbo’s will max out at roughly 500 HP providing they have the proper upgrades such as built transmission etc.
