The stock intercooler is filled with restrictions that cause turbulence that destroys airflow and power. Banks reduces restrictions by making the flow area larger throughout, from the 3” mandrel-bent boost tubes to the 25% thicker core, which offers a massive 34% increase in flow volume.

Most of the competition has inadequately designed sheet metal end tanks with square corners that choke airflow. This intercooler’s large, high-efficiency custom-machined end tanks have two major advantages, a streamlined design and rounded corners that improve airflow, and cast end tanks will never melt or burst under high-boost.

Improving airflow by removing restrictions lowers boost air temps. This improvement in oxygen and density content of air entering the engine will amplify power, lower exhaust gas temps (EGTs), and help improve fuel economy.
