Banks Power Techni-Cooler Intercooler system (Dodge 5.9L)
2003-2007 Dodge 5.9L Cummins
Superior to stock, everything about Banks Techni-Cooler Intercooler system is bigger. It includes mandrel-bent 3.5” high-flow boost tubes … large, high-efficiency all-aluminum end tanks … a wide-open inlet and outlet … a 20% thicker core area with a 27% improvement in volume … and a colossal super-flow High-Ram intake manifold.
Techni-Cooler dramatically increases the cooling capacity by balancing the richer fuel mixture with greater airflow and cooler, denser air. Denser air has more oxygen, which improves combustion as well as engine efficiency. Result: higher continuous power and more power at any exhaust gas temp (EGT), better fuel economy and lower EGTs. That's a truckload of benefits! Banks Techni-Cooler delivers the maximum reduction in boost air temperature with a minimal loss of boost pressure. It doesn't get any cooler than Techni-Cooler! Mounting hardware included.
Note: Banks Techni-Cooler comes with an all black appearance. Banks logo is for display purposes only.

I really like the whole package from Banks, good fit and finish, and was fairly easy to install. After a few tanks of fuel I think my MPG has increased or at least is more stable with mixed driving, highway/city/offroad. My EGT's are 50-150 lower, more boost at all RPM's, and seems to spool quicker. My one complaint is with an aftermarket A/C condenser in my truck I had to fab a way to attach 3 of 4 attachment points as they are moved with the Banks intercooler thus. I also was able to get a great deal on this from XDP doing the $5 price beat so customer service was excellent.

This package is more than just a larger/stronger intercooler that I bought to replace my burst plastic stock intercooler. The package includes larger tubes, fittings, clamps, high-ram intake, and the big intercooler with welded on cast ends. Installation went as per the instructions, and was fairly easy. In my case the intercooler sat just a bit low on the transmission lines, so I added shims under the hooks that set the intercooler onto the trucks mount. Not a big deal, just something to check when installing.
I do not have any performance comparisons, but I know this intercooler can easly handle the 40 psi I have thrown at it. A great upgrade from the failure prone plastic ended stock intercooler.
