Banks Power Techni-Cooler Intercooler System (Dodge 5.9L)

Overall a good kit. The larger intercooler left very little room to fit the bumper mounting bolts in, I was almost afraid it wouldn’t work, but I believe I may have cut them shorter so they didn’t hit the intercooler when tightened down. Rubber boots fit very tight, and while a bit tough to install, I wouldn’t be concerned about any of them getting blown off the tubes. No complaints about any of the parts in the kit, works well with my compound turbo setup.

Great kit! I have a 2nd gen turbo kit and had to shorten 1 pipe, but made it work and it all looks and works great!

I purchased his as an upgrade and all I can say is wow! Yes it is a tight fit installing it but we'll worth it. The truck spools up quicker and less black smoke with all the power I need to pull.

Order 1807332 - The intercooler has the Banks logo on the side tank, but it does not look like the picture. It’s painted all black and some of the fins are bent. I believe that it is new, but it made me wonder if it was reconditioned. There were no instructions or torque specifications. I will figure it out.

As always expected from Banks, good build quality. Installation was straightforward as in the paperwork from Banks. It was tough under the hood, mainly because the routing of the larger tubes and repositioning of the AC coil made it difficult. Hardest part was marrying the turbo, boost tube and intercooler together; it's hard. Word of advice - use silicone spray to help with the fitting of the boots to the tubes/intercooler and intake, it really, really helps. I did hit a snag with the upper driver's side AC coil mount, the bolt hole in the intercooler was tapped for the stock bolt and not the supplied bolts, had to cut the stock bolt in order to fit. Small inconvenience. Otherwise happy with the overall fit, no leaks on startup. Haven't had it on the road to supply performance improvement but suspect will give nice, low EGTs and better towing when I take my 5th wheel out. Dealing w/ XDP was also super easy - never a bad experience.

Truck is a 2006 Dodge with a 5.9. As far as after maker parts it has 100 over stock hp injectors, 33% over stock cp3, fass 160, 3 piece manifold, billet wheel s362, smarty touch box tuning, head studs, valve springs. That set up put 493 hp 1006 lb to the ground. Added this banks system and put 557 hp 1078 lb to the ground.
