Description

The Banks Power TransCommand is an automatic transmission management computer that helps improve the functionality of the transmission in your 1994-2003 Ford 7.3L Powerstroke. The Automatic transmissions used in full-sized Ford trucks and vans from 1989 to 2003 have smooth, car-like shift properties. Most truck owners prefer firmer shifts, especially towing or hauling heavy loads.

The Banks Power TransCommand is an electronic module that senses the load and tells the transmission to raise the hydraulic pressure accordingly. Partial-throttle shifts are smooth bust sill firm, while full-throttle or heavy-load driving provides solid, authoritative shifts. This TransCommand eliminated excessive clutch slippage which can help extend the life of the transmission and this unit is manufactured with high-temp, solid-state components.

Features:
  • Straightforward Installation
  • Helps Extend Transmission Life
  • Eliminates Excessive Clutch Slippage
  • For E4OD & 4R100 Automatic Transmission
  • Produces Smooth, Firm, Light-Throttle Shifts & Solid, Decisive Heavy-Load Shifts
Manufacturer Warranty*:
1 Year Limited

MONEY WELL SPENT.
Ben (Iron Mountain mi) | June 26th, 2018
changed the capability of my truck. Now I actually can pull a grade without listening to it downshift and scream. Best $300.00 I have spent for truck in a while. I literally installed it the night before doing a 1400 mile road trip pulling my 7000# camper and I'm very impressed.

i had a 95 f250 that had the edge evolution programmer, an afe intake and 5 inch exhaust. on the 80 horse race tune(100 horse extreme tune chokes out the engine without an intercooler. dont even use it.), both first and second gears would slip. after buying this, no slipping. the torque converter did lock up at about 30 mph thou. but still, its a lot easier and cheaper than an internal shift kit. the trans temp stayed well in the good range, so no worries there. now that i have a 99 f350 with the same programmer and straight pipe exhaust, under heavy acceleration it starts to slip. on the 60 horse tow tune. if i had the money layin around, the trans command would already be in it. thats my take. use it if u want.

Banks for the win!
Bryan (Colorado) | October 12th, 2011
I have a 2002 F-350 with the 4R100 trans, install was a breeze took only about 45 minutes, which most of which was spent trying to find a good place to mount it since my lift kit removed said stringer they want you to mount this thing to. I'd been having horrible issues with slippage after doing exhaust, intake, programmer, and turbo mods, so I got this guy to help out my tranny issues. Definitely gives better shifts and you can feel the power getting to the ground, has definitely helped my acceleration. This also fixed my torque converter locking and shifting into 4th simoutanously, as that was aggravating while pulling and devastating to built up turbo pressure. Also makes the transmission downshift like it's supposed to when in a higher gear and reducing speed. The only downside I've experienced so far that I was hoping it would fix was the torque converter spinning free when letting off the throttle at speeds less than 45mph. Over all a great product and Banks has developed a device to make the transmission work the way it's supposed!

Improved shifting
James Gusman (Oceanside, CA) | March 14th, 2012
I added this Trans Command with a Garrett turbo and AFE filter . I have a built trans, but short shifting was an issue. My truck was the slowest on every grade, but now it pulls great!

I have a 97 CC which I bought in 2000 with 100k miles. The previous owner put the completeBanks system on the truck with only 3k miles. I now have 370k miles on the stock tranny, injectors and motor. I know there are less expensive ways to modify our trucks, but the longetivity of this truck is a testament to the 7.3 AND Banks engineering. I pull a construction trailer, a smaller trailer and a camper at various times during the year. Very impressed!
