The AirDog II-5G A7SABC509 DF-165-5G Air/Fuel Separation System from XDP is the newest generation of fuel delivery systems for your 2001-2010 GM 6.6L Duramax LB7/LLY/LBZ/LMM (Moderate To Extreme).
The AirDog II-5G offers protection and performance like no other lift pump. Their patented air separation, along with a water separator, and fuel filter makes sure your expensive fuel injection system components get all the clean fuel they can handle. This also helps overcome any loss of power due to driving in higher altitudes with a factory fuel pump. This system improves engine performance by eliminating spray pattern disruption due to air entering the system. This allows the engine to keep its designed injection timing which allows a more complete burn of the fuel entering the cylinder. This increases overall engine efficiency across the power and torque range.
All 5G systems also come with upgraded wiring harnesses and connectors. The wiring harness features 12-gauge wire from the battery all the way to the internal connections in the motor. A Metri-Pack 280 connector replaces the Deutch 2-pin connector which allows more current flow without creating excessive heat. All other connectors in the harness use weather packs, to help keep the elements out.
The AirDog II-5G is the first diesel Fuel Air Separation System to include an integrated diaphragm fuel pressure regulator. This regulator better fuel flow at pressure, allows for more fuel pressure adjustability, and can also be boost compensated. This system retains the same 4G motor technology that has proven itself to be a reliable, quiet operating system. It also features the "Demand Flow" of the older AirDog II variants. Demand Flow means whatever fuel the injection system does not use gets recirculated back through the filter base.

I’ve done some research and everyone has been saying a lift pump is a must have for a Duramax if you want it to remain as reliable as possible. The instructions were kind of hard to follow…I honestly should’ve just went with my mechanical instincts but overall the installation was easy. It also seemed to make my truck a little bit snappier on the throttle which is great!

Installed , plumbed, and operating perfectly in no time. Factory preset pressure from pump has my old LB7 running perfect at idle. Along with a deleted filter head and a fresh fuel rebuild. A couple cranks and it fired right over in no time. Very pleased with the pump and its quality. I’m certain it’s going to give us many years of faithful service.

Took a couple hours to install especially with the beans sump, can't even hear the pump running. Long enough hose to reach the engine.
