Description

The PureFlow AirDog R2SBD053 150GPH Raptor Pump for your 2005-2017 Dodge 5.9L/6.7L Diesel allows more fuel to flow than a stock pump. If you have an upgraded, modified engine with larger injectors, performance tuning and more, then the Raptor Lift Pump can improve fuel flow for improved performance. A large, modified engine can starve for fuel if a better, high rate flow pump is not used. Kit includes quick connect fittings, wiring harness, mounting hardware, fuel line, mounting bracket and all required components for installation.

Weak motor design
1
I had the Raptor for 5 months always at 15PSI, then it started slowly dropping until it got to 9PSI, my desire to have my truck running again made me wanting to actually know what is causing the problem, So i Opened the pump and look at the electrical motor. I'm an electromechanic engineer and Oh boy, this thing has so many flaws; to start the pump wasn't working because the magnets weren't making contact, why? they are pushed towards the rod by these weak coil springs that are made by a very malleable alloy, so one was out of place. After i put it back into place i looked at the wires connecting the magnets to the coil, they are too long getting in the way of the magnet rails,. I can continue reviewing the design but honestly, this pump needs to go back to the design table, perform a Quality Function Deployment, R&R and determine a better qualification protocol, Thanks WR
