The XDP Fuel Tank Sump - One Hole Design XD182 is the perfect solution for those wanting to build their own custom fuel system with an aftermarket lift pump. This One Hole Design Fuel Tank Sump is easier to install than others on the market, and it only requires one hole in the fuel tank for installation! The XD182 provides an outlet for fuel on the bottom of the fuel tank which makes it easy to connect to popular fuel systems such as AirDog & FASS Pumps.
For an easy installation, the inner-ring is designed to fit in the bottom of the tank so this can be installed from underneath. A machined groove for the O-ring gasket ensures a leak free seal, and the 2-bolt design eliminates the need to drill additional bolt holes. For use with aftermarket fuel systems. Includes barbed 1/2 NPT fitting for 1/2" hose.

Good Sump, but Needs Improvements

I installed this sump on my 2004 F-250 6.0l along with an AirDog 165 pump. Everything worked out well. The parts seem to be good quality, machining and finish look great. But it is lacking in a couple small areas. The instructions tell you to put teflon tape on the threads of the outlet fitting before installing, but don’t specify which kind. I had to research this and find out which grade of tape would be suitable for diesel fuel, as I wasn’t comfortable with normal white tape having to withstand contact with diesel. The second thing is there’s no hose clamp included or mention of hose clamp in the instructions. All the fittings on the AirDog required no clamps so I assumed the one on the XDP sump would be the same. After filling tank with fuel it began leaking and I had to add one. All small inconveniences, but things that I expect to have for the price. Overall it’s still a great product, I’d buy another.

Got a 3in hole saw threw the mounting plate inside ( Very clever design ), no need to drop the tank the mounting plate is designed to go right up into the 3 inch hole with some maneuvering. Bolt everything up and your good to go. Used this for my suction line on my fass fuel pump

takes berry little time to install and I dont really think you have to drop the tank to install it.
