Gauges don’t have a dimmer which is insanely bright at night, the instructions were basically non existent, if you’ve never installed gauges before you’ll be lost and watching Glowshift’s videos just so you have an idea. BESIDES that they are good quality, color is very very good close to factory, fits correctly and is all around good kit. Autometer really needs to get a dimmer on these it’s its biggest downfall

I recently purchased this gauge pod set up and installed it. Its a great product, but isn't a complete kit like it says you will need your own wire to completely wire up the trans temp gauge and it doesn't come with a boost bolt so make sure you order that when you order this.

The color in the photo is WRONG. It is the light gray everyone hopes it is. Instalation was not difficult, but the directions were very little help. KEEP SEVERAL THINGS IN MIND. Not enough wire included with the kit, and its cheap. Boost bolt is not included. The tap needed for the exhaust manifold is NOT sold at many stores. Parts stores, Sears, Menards, etc none had it being it is a pipe thread, not standard or metric. I found one at a local Fastenal store, but keep that in mind. For the price, it would have been nice for them to include the boost bolt and tap. Gauges look good, work good, and the pod cluster definitely matches. Due to a shipping issue (NOT XDP fault) this is the first time I had to deal with XDP customer service. They were great and spoke very clear English. Very helpful.

Picked these up while rebuilding my turbo so I could have a more accurate view of the truck after all the changes. The boost gauge works perfect. Line kinks kind of easy, but take your time and it's fine. The additional boost bolt is a must. Makes an annoying install, a 5 minute breeze. Drilled the 1/8 npt port in the manifold while it was off the truck for the turbo rebuild. That was a breeze with a drill press. The trans temp sensor. After doing a lot of reading, the absolute best place to put the trans temp sensor is the cooler line out from the trans. It reads the fluid from the torque convertor, which is the hottest point of the trans. You'll need a $35-40 adapter for this depending on where you buy it. Everywhere I've found it wants $15+ shipping. So be prepared for that. Also, not sure the extent, but I have LED bulbs with soldered on resisters for the map/dome lights and LED lights in the dash, tapped my autometer gauges into the dimmer switch for the headlighs/dash and it doesn't work for anything. The gauges only light in 2 spots on the dimmer switch, all the way to the bottom and a hair past the first click going up. So count another $40+ for the autometer dimming switch I wasn't expecting to buy, so I can put them on a fixed switchable 12V line.I like the gauges, but just be prepared for all the additional pieces actually needed to make the "all parts included" kit work the way I'd expect it to. With the current parts, they expect the trans plug to be tapped into the pan or put into the test port. Both locations are horrible for reading the trans oil temp as if there is a problem, you'll know too late.
