The 5100 Series Steering Damper equipped vehicle offers a much more controlled feeling, allowing you to get the true feeling of your vehicle and what it is capable of. Utilizing our proven design, the steering damper is able to dampen minute movements in the steering and reduce steering vibrations that naturally occur especially in older vehicles. These dampers are the least expensive and most effective upgrade to extend the service life of any vehicle out on the road today.

Installed this on a 2011 F-350 dually. Before it would wander going down the road, after installing this new up graded steering stabilizer the truck drives like new. Would recommend for a cost effective option to up grade from wore out factory parts.

The latter part of July I experienced my first death wobble in my 2015 F250 with 104000 miles on it. I took it to a local shop where they replaced the stabilizer bar, ball joint assembly, tie rod end, and spindle rod ends. I could definitely tell an improvement in the steering. But about 2000 miles later I had another death wobble. Took it back to the shop but they couldn't look at it for two weeks and I needed my truck within two weeks. They suggested they could change the steering damper. I took a look at the steering damper and saw it was easy to replace. After some research I decided to go with a Bilstein 5100 Steering Damper. I picked up a Tie Rod and Pitman Arm Puller from the local Chinese tool store to remove the tapered linkage bolt. That was money well spent. Then the question was how much torque to use. Online values are all over the place. I finally went with 59 ft-lbs on the frame bolt and 66 ft-lbs on the link nut. The Bilstein 5100 made another big improvement in steering. Time will tell if my death wobble is fixed but I drove on some really rough roads this past weekend with no problem.

I need to know if this steering stabilizer comes with the brackets I need to install on my 2014 Ford? My 2014 f 350 does not have a steering stabilizer currently. Only the solid bar that comes on the vehicle stock. If I purchase this stabilizer will it have all the parts I need to install onto my truck or do I need to buy something else with it?

This Bilstein 5100 Series Steering Damper 24-196284 is a direct replacement of the factory equipped Steering Damper and will not include brackets for trucks that are not factory equipped.
