My old steering was so sloppy. Chasing the wheel back an forth. Lots of play an worn out lower U-joint. I put the new steering shaft in an It made a huge difference in the steering. Its so much easier to keep the tires in the lane. A must do if your steering was like mine.

The steering shaft did make a great improvement to the steering of the truck over the stock style shaft. The issues I have with it is the installation and using set screws to hold it on with. It is nearly impossible to properly drill the dimples in the shaft coming from the steering column, so I ended up removing the steering column from the truck. I am glad I did it that way because my attempt at drilling the dimples with the column installed didn't result in the correct outcome. The instructions really doesn't say how much of a dimple is needed, so after some research online I found a good example. This part is critical to keep the shaft from sliding off the column which would result in loosing your steering and possibly dying or killing someone else. They really need to include pictures of the install rather than the drawings. I also added a 8/32" set screw to the end of the column shaft (making sure it didn't interfere with the movement of the steering shaft to help catch the shaft in case the set screws worked their way loose). On the other end, I filed the flat as the directions indicated. Really, the only safety with this shaft is the collar that slides up to the rubber boot. This keeps the shaft from folding up, but it holds on with a set screw as well. Make sure you use the blue loctite as well to help keep things tight. Hopefully I will not have any issues with this shaft, Borgeson has made thousands of these with no issues, so hopefully I am just being paranoid.

Purchased for my 1998 2500 4x4 and couldn't be happier. It's stout and offers minimal play around the joints; greatly reduces vibrations at the wheel and fixed a lot of slop in my steering. A little spendy but leaps and bounds better than any Dormain part or other manufacturer.
