Borgeson 000951 Steering Shaft

Easy install. Definitely took out the play from the stock steering shaft. Nice quality part.

Install was pretty easy, definitely a lot tighter than the stock steering shaft with 260000 miles on it. I like that this shaft can be attached to the box in any position, unlike the stock shaft, so I was able to perfectly center the box and steering wheel.

This part worked exactly as promised. The rattling sound over bumps and sloppy handling down the road completely disappeared once installed. The delivery was prompt and on schedule. Very pleased customer on this end!

Fit my 04 Ram 3500 perfectly, it is a very strong assembly, I would recommend using antiseize on the set screws at steering box to facilitate removal if ever needed.

I had two problems with my steering. #1 There was this incredibly annoying knock or rattling behind the steering wheel that I had been chasing for months. #2 I had that classic sloppy dodge steering with pretty bad wander. I tried the shims in the stock steering shaft, and it made the problem better but didn’t fix it. I finally went ahead and ordered this product after having done the steering linkage and steering box, and still having the same issues. This product fixed both the sloppy steering/wander as well as that annoying knock/rattle behind the steering wheel. I am extremely happy with the new steering shaft, and it has my, almost 20 yr/o, truck driving like it’s fresh off the lot. If you’re looking to replace the steering shaft in your 3rd gen, go with this steering shaft rather than the OEM style. Like I said, it fixed both the problems I had been chasing for months, and I’m extremely happy with it.
