The Choate Reman 7.3 Long Block Crate Engine - Daily Driver is the ideal choice

All Choate engines begin with an extensive cleaning processes - utilizing media blasting, furnaces,
spray cabinets, hot tanks, and ultrasonic equipment - ensure your
investment is well protected. The 7.3 Powerstroke engine undergoes full CNC blueprint machining, including boring, decking, honing, and line honing. The cylinder bores are blueprinted to a true 90 degrees from the crankshaft centerline and diamond honed within .0002 inch for precise piston-to-cylinder bore clearances. The crankshaft is polished and ground to .0005 concentricity or less, while the crankshaft bore housing is line-honed to ensure perfect alignment within the engine block.
The cylinder block is surfaced to a finish of RA30 or lower, which is crucial for proper sealing with MLS gaskets. The engine utilizes new HD design pistons, with all pistons, rings, and pin retainers weight-matched prior to crank balancing. In addition, this engine features a balanced and matched rotational assembly, with a
new harmonic balancer and flex plate. New rod, main, and cam
bearings, as well as billet freeze plugs, ensure this engine is built for
durability. Also included are new OEM injector cups, head studs, hardened seats, valve guides, valve seals, and new oil rail
plugs. Factory 7.3 engines were plagued with inferior valve and seat materials,
leading to frequent cracking due to heat cycles. The original valves
often wear down to razor-sharp edges, risking catastrophic failure. For this reason Choate uses different valves that do not have this issue,

Choate Long Block Note:
Long
Block engines typically consist of a short block with cylinder heads
and are ready for the final buildup. This long block does
not include bolt-on components such as the oil pan, front
cover, valve covers, intake, exhaust, fuel system, or turbo components.
These items will need to be changed over from your existing engine or
purchased new, and installed onto your new Choate Long Block before
installation into your truck.
Air Filter Note:
Choate
has found that many issues with the original Ford 7.3L engine stem from
its airbox design, which can often fail to seal
properly, particularly when aftermarket air filters are used in the
stock airbox. This potential flaw can allow dirt to enter the engine,
leading to low
compression, blow-by, and excessive wear on vital engine components like
piston rings, valve guides, and cylinder walls. Choate strongly
recommends the use of an
Aftermarket Air Intake System for upgraded filtration and added peace of mind.
