Replace the old water pump on your 5.9 or 6.7 engine with the Cummins 5473238 Genuine Water Pump. This water pump is a direct-fit replacement to ensure your cooling system operates like it did when your truck was brand new. Over the years there have been many superseded part numbers which you will notice when trying to find the OEM replacement. This water pump supersedes the original 3286278 number, which makes it backwards compatible on the earlier models as well. This is an OEM part and has a composite impeller.

Water pump started leaking, didn't want a cheap knock off even with warranty. The old pump had 5 fins, this one had 7 fins. The only difference I could see other than that is this water pump didn't have a weep hole.

No problems with this part. Just bought the truck, my coolant looked very old and it wasn’t an original water pump so I’m sure acid took out the seals. Anyhow, the synthetic impellers weren’t broken on mine when it arrived. I tested my thermostat and it opens at 193 and that’s where my temp gauge is sitting on the highway. Other than the blades and their base, the entire part is cast iron so it feels sturdy, I’m better about keeping up with maintenance than the last guy but I guess time will tell.

Receiveved my pump and the impeller was broken. The packaging was absolutely fine no damage but product was...Sent it back got another one within just days. Same thing broken..The company was really good on response and love the fast shipping. Perhaps just coincidence but wont try a 3rd time.I will order from them again just not a pump.
