Description
The Fleece TapShifter allows you to shift your 2001-2005 Allison Transmission with the touch of a button just like the 2006 and newer trucks. Perfect for towing, drag racing, daily driving and everything in-between, the TapShifter installs in no time and provides factory-like operation, functionality and styling.
Installation:
The TapShifter installs using OEM high quality connectors for a completely plug and play installation in less than 30 minutes.
Operation:
TapShifter Operation is very straight forward. To downshift you'll simply depress the "-" button on the shifter. To upshift you'll press the "+" button. The TapShifter will allow you to select a range with the shift lever and then tap up and down without worry of tapping to a higher range than selected. This feature is great for sled pullers who do not want to shift to 4th gear on the track!

Had my shop install this part for me last week and I absolutely love it. Definitely looks & feels better than the OE shifter. Quality is top notch. Functions exactly as advertised and gives you much better control of the truck.

The shifter is very useful for big grades down hills and really just gives a better feeling than the old round shifter. My truck, when selected in 1st gear will shift at 3600 rpm. Great quality and very easy installation. I would recommend doing the shifter cable while you have it all apart.

I have 02 Allison and I upgraded my trans to suncoast 6 speed from 5 speed. Do I need a different year tap shifter to use my 6 speed or will the 02 work for me?

Yes. The Fleece Allison Tapshifter will work in your truck with the 5 to 6 speed conversion but when the Tapshifer is engaged it will skip 5th gear in both directions. The transmission will retain all 6 gears in normal drive mode.
