Installation Tech Tip:
For 2015-2025 models, a Particulate Matter (PM) Sensor is mounted into a bung in the tailpipe of the exhaust system. Over time, heat and corrosion can cause the sensor to seize inside the bung, making removal very difficult. In some extreme cases, such as XDP’s own F-450, an attempted removal resulted in both the sensor and mounting bung breaking off of the tailpipe entirely. Because of complaints like this, the PM Sensor is often replaced by many when installing a new tailpipe or a DPF-Back exhaust system.
