Mean Green High Output Alternator 8247

Order # 1167395 I ordered this with intention of adding additional electric cooling, but haven't gotten there yet. I Installed in July of 2020, and last week, the alternator failed - specifically the voltage regulator on this mean green HO alternator. In the process, it was not charging at all, and then creeping up to 19 volts DC. Because of that, it caused my two Optima Red tops (AGM) to vent and ruin them both ($250 each). While this is a good alternator in theory, I wish I would have went with a dual set up so I could have been more reliable and not damaged my batteries and electronics. If I was on the road, or not close to my house, this could have been catastrophic and lead to thermal runaway on the batteries and an engine fire. I've contacted Mean Green and will attempt a warranty replacement, but they only have one year warranty (unconditional) with their product.

installation was kind of a pain gettin the old 1 out but puttin in the mean green was easy. everything runs great n lights in my dash are coming back.

It wasn't any harder to install than taking old one out. In fact it was easier since God invented You Tube. It has been 6 months and is producing power as advertised.
