The Mean Green High Output Alternator is the answer to all of your charging problems as it provides up to 300% more power than stock. This alternator can charge any engine no matter what its' power requirements. Special new castings permit use of stock bracketry and bolt hole locations. Even the stock wiring harness can be used for easy plug in. Designed to outlast and outperform any other unit. Great for use in ambulances, tow trucks, motorhomes or vehicles with off road lights, winches, stereo systems or other power accessories.
The Mean Green Alternator's tool steel rotorshaft is supported at both ends by heavy duty double sealed bearings. Even the heavy duty solid copper starter windings are sealed with high temperature insulation. That's one reason we include a 1 year Warranty at no charge on every alternator. Another is the heat resistant, multi-function integrated regulator which continues to operate even at extreme temperatures.

Replaced from OEM. Had it warranty replaced twice before I decided to switch back to Motorcraft.

Bought this 1yr and 3 months ago for my 2005 f250, that i don't drive that much
worked well for that time, and took a crap, voltage regulator went out and started over charging .
I have less than 3500 miles on this alt. for the price its a peace of crap. Don't waist your money.

Alternator was on for 5 miles and quit charging. Put known good alternator on and everything works like it should. XDP sends me to Mean Green for support. Mean green did send me a brand new alt. I have not used it do to already having a known good one on the truck. Mean green will not give me a refund and I did not see anywhere on XDP website that could not get a refund on this alt. Only on mean green website.

The Mean Green High Output Alternator 8478 would increase your overall amperage, but not your voltage. A good rule of thumb is that more amps are not harmful, but more voltage is. If you look at electrical power like water, amperage is equivalent to the volume of water, and voltage is equivalent to water pressure. More amperage is like having a larger pool of water to draw from. The max amps from your stock alternator is 110. The Mean Green alternator will operate a 110 amps idle – 220 amps running.
