Many Powerstroke operators will discover that the harness has been compromised during regular maintenance, or that a hard cold start could be a symptom of harness damage. Years of high glow plug amperage demand and high engine bay temperatures can cause the plastic connectors to brittle, resulting in circuit shorts.
