As RAM continued to improve and innovate their truck lineup they pulled the rear leaf springs out of the 2500 models in favor of coil springs for the 2014 model year. While this was done to enhance ride quality, it also exposed a wheel hop issue. RAM's offering to fix this was the Power Hop Damper which is a shock absorber installed between the rear axle, and a cross member underneath the frame. Only select models came with this installed from the factory. Fortunately for most, the provisions are there on many of the 2500 models even if not originally equipped with the PowerHop Damper. If you have those mounting provisions on your truck, this kit gives you the parts you will need to easily bolt this on.
Vehicles equipped with the PowerHop option from the factory use a Mopar shock that is supplied by Bilstein. Through your local dealer, that Mopar OE shock carries a price tag that is more than the Bilstein 5100 Series which is the aftermarket upgraded component. Order this kit through XDP and you'll get the mounting hardware, mounting bracket, and the shock so you'll be ready for a bolt-on installation.
