Description
The PPE 114000750 MicroPure XR Engine Oil Filter offers enhanced filtration of your GM 6.6L Duramax’s oil. The oil filter is your engine’s first line of defense against contaminants that degrade oil performance and reduce oil lifespan. Poor filter performance and the presence of oil contaminants can lead to premature wear and potential failure of engine internals. The OEM filter offers 259 square inches of 25-micron filtration capability and uses a weak leaf spring, reducing seal quality and allowing dirty oil to blow past the filter media.
PPE’s upgraded filter provides 522 square inches of filtration area, a 100% increase over the OEM filter. The specially engineered ultra-fine synthetic microfiber MicroPure XR media achieves a 5-micron nominal rating. An integrated high-temperature rated neodymium magnet also allows the PPE filter to capture ferrous particles, preventing them from clogging the media, extending filter and oil life. The use of a heavy-duty coil spring ensures a secure seal between the media end cap and the base plate, eliminating dirty oil blow-by and maximizing filtration performance.
The PPE filter incorporates a steel-NBR poppet and a precision coil spring to ensure a proper seal and consistent performance. The PPE filter also features a heat-resistant silicone anti-drainback valve, retaining oil in the filter after the engine is turned off for superior protection against dry starts.
The PPE filter’s heavy-duty construction, consisting of a high-strength steel base plate with increased thread engagement and large oil passages as well as a durable metal center tube for rigid media support and pressure resistance, allow for maximum confidence in all conditions. An integrated pleat-locking spiral bead of adhesive keeps filter media pleats secured and evenly spaced for consistent filtration performance. Additionally, PPE’s TorqSTOP Technology prevents over-tightening and reinforces the rubber gasket, enabling a burst pressure rating of 450PSI.

No! You must have a kit to move the fuel pump and lines out of the way. I’m not recommending this company for anything. Dirty sales tactics!

I thought it would have less oil pressure because of a finer media, but instead it has more oil pressure because it has more media for oil to pass through. The most oil pressure I used to run with the PF 26 filter would be about 60 pounds when the oil was hot and running about anywhere from 2000 to 3500 but now with the new filter running up 60 to 70 pounds because it has more media for the oil pass through. I don’t know what kind of oil pressure is before the filter after it leaves the pump, but I believe the PF 26 filter was restricting the flow of the oil.

1st thing $50 for the filter (including shipping) make sure you order the cooler extension kit. Checking the oil as I am changing it, what a difference I can tell from using the amsoil filter. Oil is just as black but is a lot smoother. Highly recommend. Make sure you fill the filter with oil before installing. You’ll need 11 quarts now for your duramax.

Filter is awesome works great went from 5000 miles per oil change to 7500 plus. And for the guy that says he didn’t know he needed a kit it clearly states that multiple places and suggest for you to buy it so maybe learn to read before ordering. Kit was easy to get in and oil changes are less frequent now faster and I know these filters are keeping the oil much cleaner.

I'm sure the filter is great. What's to complain about a bigger oil filter? The only complaint I have is I ordered the filter and not knowing That I needed to purchase a kit for moving something in the way. Then only to find out that said kit is out of stock after I bought them all. More of a pain in the ass than just putting on an oil filter. Should have just stayed with the stock one and changed them more often.
