PPE 119020086 Coolant Drain Tube

For the life of me, I don't know why GM didn't include a way of draining the radiator that doesn't include removing the hose. This gem solves that problem and is well made and fits well. One thing to note, the rock guard will be challenging to get on with this installed. I moved the hoses up a bit to make room.

The main body is very well made in it simplicity. The band clamps on the other hand do not measure up to the expectation as viewed in the picture description on your web page. The coolant drain tube is shown with (2) two T-bolt clamps, but came supplied with two modified gear clamps and are of a narrower width by design. I specifically wanted the wider T-bolt clamps because the area clamping is wider and has a more progressive clamping design. The OE factory GM lower radiator hose for the 2006 Silverado 6.6 ltr LBZ duramax brand new, deserves nothing but the best if you are going to cut it in two pieces and modify it to accept this what appears to be a well made drain pipe assembly. Disappointment has settled in because now I need to source out and purchase (2) T-bolt clamps of the exact size to create the clamping pressure that I was originally hoping for. I’m sure that once I’m ready to cut my new hose assembly, and with the proper clamps acquired to complete the install, I will be satisfied that I made the right choice by purchasing the PPE119020086 stainless Coolant Drain Tube.

Looks to be made well, I like the tension clamps it came with. Better then the auto store clamps. So far it’s holding up well
