HOW DO I BLEED, OR PURGE AIR, FROM MY STEERING GEAR BOX SYSTEM?
1.    After installing the gearbox, fill the system with fluid.
2.    Raise the front wheels off the ground, do not start the vehicle.
3.    Work the steering wheel back and forth, lock to lock, 15-20 times.
4.    Leave the vehicle sit (overnight is best) at least 2 hours
5.    Top the pump reservoir off again.
6.    Work the steering wheel back and forth again 7-10 times
7.    Have a person in the vehicle and another at the pump reservoir with a container of fluid & funnel ready to pour if necessary.
8.    Instruct the person in the vehicle to start the engine. As soon as this happens, if the fluid level drops, be ready to pour in more fluid. The level must be kept at an almost full level or it will suck in air again.
9.    If this procedure is followed properly, the air problem will be solved.

The process is NOT painless

Here’s the thing, the product itself seems okay. I’ve heard good things about redhead. When I received the product and installed it, the case itself had a flex to it. When you have someone turn the wheel, the part of the case that is bolted on (where the steering shaft goes into) flexes under torque. You can see a slight gap form. It looked like it was leaking at first but I gave it a little time. Seems to be OK I guess. Secondly, they claim the product weighs 35 pounds for shipping (which you have to pay return shipping for the core which costs 130 bucks at USPS, the cheapest I could find) when I weighed the new product it was actually 45 pounds. They did that to cut costs, I’m not sure how they fooled the carrier. When I went to return my core, it weighed 46 pounds empty, 130 bucks to ship, to get my 400 dollar core charge back, so you only actually get 270 dollars back. Also, keep in mind they have to inspect it first, I only replaced my gearbox because of the slop in steering. My box actually worked perfectly when I sent it back. I would have been okay with a 40-50 dollar shipping return. All things aside, my reason for the 2 star is I’m disappointed in customer service, and the overhyped quality of the product. And the steering didn’t even tighten up much at all. My entire front end has been replaced trying to fix this issue and the play in my steering wheel seems to be still in the gear box itself. You see the shaft turning in the gearbox, but the pitman arm doesn’t move until you get about a quarter turn out of it. This whole thing seems like a waste of money but I already sent back my core so I guess I’m screwed.
