Description
Upgrade your airflow and install the S&B 76-1006B Turbo Inlet Manifold on your 2004.5-2005 GM 6.6L Duramax. The S&B Turbo Inlet Manifold went through dramatic changes from the powder coated black body of the mouthpiece to the CNC machined edges giving your engine the look it deserves. Not only does it look great under the hood but it's also compatible with intake systems that utilize the stock location. This product is a welcome addition to any LLY Duramax and helps you outperform the restrictive stock piece. Once installed you will notice increased throttle response and in many cases lower EGT's to help keep your engine running cooler. When tested to ISO 5011 standards, the S&B Turbo Inlet Manifold offers a 78.6% increase in airflow over the stock LLY mouthpiece.

Outside the part looks good but inside is very rough. It needs to be sanded smooth. There’s weld marks inside.

Put it on my 05 within like 20 minutes, good instructions. So far havent' put many miles on it to know whether it helped or not. Temp stayed lower when pulling a camper 30ish miles. Crossing fingers for continued low temps!

Installation was a snap. Total time was only about 30 minutes. It really cleans up the engine compartment. I noticed minor performance gains, but nothing too extravagant. I don't regret the purchase.

Why is it illegal in California, what changes?
The S&B Filters 76-1006B Turbo Inlet Manifold is not legal for sale or use in California on pollution controlled motor vehicles because is does not have a CARB E.O. #.
The California Air Resource Board (CARB) requires that an E.O. identification label be applied to the vehicle in order to pass a smog check inspection when a Performance Intake Kit has been installed. You must place the E.O. label provided on or near the intake kit after installation so that a smog check technician can easily verify the E.O. number. As of April 2009, S&B has never had a product where CARB denied an exemption request; however, the exemption process with CARB can take as long as 18 months. Check the status of the exemption process by looking up a specific part number at www.sbfilters.com. The CARB Exemption number and/or status is listed under the Product Details section for each part number. If the status shows as “Pending,” CARB has yet to issue an exemption. Products that have not been issued an EO number are street legal in most states, but may not be used on emission controlled vehicles in the state of California and are for off road use only. If you purchased your kit from S&B Filters directly, we will automatically mail you your Exemption Sticker when it is issued to us. If you purchased your kit from an authorized S&B Filters Dealer, log onto our web site and register to receive your Exemption Sticker.
