This kit improves converter feed capacity while also providing better cooling and lubrication. The SK E40D Shift Kit also adjusts the torque converter charge pressure to better match the engine torque and helps reduce TCC slip codes.

Yes, you do have to remove the transmission when install the TransGo SK E4OD Shift Kit as it requires access to pump cover and other internal parts.
