The Walker 211-1012 Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) Sensor from XDP is a great solution for replacing the ECT sensor in your 2001-2010 GM 6.6L Duramax LB7/LLY/LBZ/LMM. A coolant temperature (ECT) sensor is used by the PCM to monitor the engine's coolant temperature. The PCM determines the changes required to the engine's timing and fuel calculations for peak performance. The ECT sensor is most often located close to the thermostat of the cooling system or inside of it. The cooling system is located beneath the air intake pipe and behind the right cylinder. Temperature sensors fail due to simple wear and tear. The sensor connector and wiring harness can lose connectivity over time.
