The XDP Diesel Power Plus Fuel Additive will certainly improve cold weather performance, but I’d recommend running the XDP Polar-D Winter Formula Diesel Fuel Additive once the extreme winter temperatures begin.

Diesel fuel can begin to cloud around 32ºFand gelling can begin as high as 10ºF - 15ºF (depending on fuel quality and location). Gelling of your fuel is often referred to as the CFPP (Cold Filter Plugging Point). With just 1oz of our Polar-D additive in 8 gallons of fuel you can lower the CFPP by at least 10ºF. (Add prior to filling the fuel tank to assure proper mixing)

The XDP Diesel Power Plus Fuel Additive XDDPP116 comes in a squeeze measuring bottle. This allows you the measure just the right amount of additive without spillage or loss of product.

To use these dispensing bottles, simply loosen cap from dispensing chamber. Gently squeeze the bottle to fill measuring chamber with required amount of additive. Remove cap from dispensing chamber and easily pour the measured additive from the chamber.

Under normal storage conditions diesel fuel can be expected to stay in a useable condition

for:

• 12 months or longer at an ambient of 20°C/68°F.

• 6-12 months at an ambient temperature higher than 30°C/86°F.

As diesel gets older a fine sediment and gum forms in the diesel brought about by the

reaction of diesel components with oxygen from the air. The fine sediment and gum will

block fuel filters, leading to fuel starvation and the engine stopping. Frequent filter changes

are then required to keep the engine going. The gums and sediments do not burn in the

engine very well and can lead to carbon and soot deposits on injectors and other combustion

surfaces.

The expected life of a diesel fuel is indicated by the oxidation stability test ASTM D2274.

The test measures how much gum and sediment will be deposited after keeping the fuel at

95°C/203°F in the presence of oxygen for 16 hours. It roughly corresponds to 1 year storage at

25°C/77°F. A result of less than 20mg/L of sediment and gum after the test is considered

acceptable for normal diesel.

(XDP’s Diesel Power Plus additive provides excellent stability with a result of 1.5mg/L in the ASTM D2274 test. )
