Description

The XDP Fuel Tank Sump - One Hole Design With Fuel Return XD243 provides you with a perfect option for custom fuel delivery with an aftermarket fuel system. The XD243 features a one-hole design that only requires drilling a single 3" hole for installation. A machined groove for the O-ring gasket ensures a leak-free seal, and the inner-ring is designed to fit into the bottom of the tank without requiring you to remove it from the truck.

What sets the XD243 apart from the other sumps in the XDP lineup is the built-in fuel return for an easy connection to most aftermarket fuel systems. Using the built-in return port, you can easily route return fuel back to the tank without having to modify other components of your fuel system for a clean and easy installation. For optimal fuel quality, the XDP Sump features a stand pipe that places the returned fuel above the fuel feed. This design prevents the aerated return fuel from going directly into the feed. Includes barbed fittings for 1/2" hose with the threads on the ports being 1/2" NPT.

Features:
  • Built-In Fuel Return
  • 1/2" NPT Threaded Ports
  • No Tank Drop Installation
  • Stand Pipe Separates Return Fuel & Feed
  • Made From Aircraft Grade T6 Billet Aluminum
Manufacturer Warranty*:
2 Year / Unlimited Mileage

Feed and return XDP sump
Don (Ga) | September 19th, 2022
Install was easy. Fittings allow for upgrades to larger fuel flow for different applications. Wish it included a brass fuel shutoff or ball valve for easy fuel filter changes. Went to replace the fuel filter and the tank was full. Was caught off guard and fuel was free-flowing when the filter was loosened. Pinched feed line to replace and clean.

LML Duramax Sump
ktm (Vancouver, WA) | July 22nd, 2022
Great sump! Install went well, and it doesn't leak. A couple complaints I had were the included fittings fit pretty loosely onto the included FASS hose when I did my lift pump install, but I reefed down on them with a couple hose clamps and have had no issues with leaking. Second, the finish flakes off easily when threading in the fittings, leaving shavings everywhere. These cleaned up easily with brake cleaner, but was a bit annoying. Overall no big issues and I'm happy with how it turned out.

Good sump
Tunamaxx (Lompoc) | July 10th, 2021
Install was straight forwards. I was a little disappointed on the finish on some of the parts. Bad chamfers had to smooth out with debur knife. Order # 1449693

Good Quality and fairly easy to install.
James (Bremerton, WA) | April 21st, 2021
I was installing an Air Dog 2 4G165 on my 2008 LMM. Overall quality looked good. It comes barb fittings, gasket, back plate, sump, return pipe, and the screws/washers. The things you will need, PTFE (teflon) tape for putting the fittings in, 3" holesaw, 1/2" to 1 1/4" hose clamps. The instructions are general and semi vague due to it applying to multiple platforms, I get it. That said, I used a light to thoroughly inspect the parts and remove any remnants of machining. When you install this, drive until you have less than 5 gallons left. I found my position, and used my drill just to put the alignment hole in the tank, put my bucket under the hole, and let it drain overnight (I am not dependent on this as my sole or work vehicle). Next morning, I started by removing the drain bucket and putting a lid on it, then I resumed drilling the 3" hole in the center of the flat spot in the tank. Right into my OEM fuel pickup basket. So, I stopped, dropped the tank, looked at it for an hour thinking this will cost me another grand to fix this screw-up. Fortunately, found a seller on craigslist that was parting a truck out and spent the $200 for a tank and pickup. I cleaned the new tank and drilled the hole in the right place this time. Put it at the FORWARDMOST point of the flat area on the tank. If I could attach a picture, I would and show the difference. While I was not using the pickup since I added a lift pump, I still needed the gas gauge and the return straw was interfering with the float arm on the basket even after modifying it. This system does not have the quick disconnect fittings like the Beans does, nor does it include the plug for the supply line on the top of the tank. I had to order that separately from Summit Racing. That is why you need the hose clamps, as the supply and return hoses will not attach using the FASS or Air Dog QD fittings. If I had to do it over again, I would skip the Air Dog/Fass lift pump and just install a Fleece in-tank. I spent about the same anyway and now I need to install a power switch for the lift pump because when the ignition is on, the pump is on. In conclusion, it is an easy unit to install. It is actually good to drop the tank so you can clean it and your pickup anyway because they are going to be dirty, regardless. Try to find out where your pickup/fuel float sits before drilling, it can save you money. The sump is quality, but again, the instructions are semi-generic. Order #1352512

Great quality, not an all inclusive kit
David Fence (Imperial Beach, CA) | February 16th, 2020
The actual hardware that comes with the sump is top of the line great quality and the two hole design ensures a good seal. I’ve installed one hole designs that you have to rely on rtv to seal properly which sucks. My only negative about the kit is not everything is included and for the price it should be. For instance you need a 3 inch hole saw to drill the tank with which I have seen included in other kits and there was also no line or caps included to cap the draw straw sending unit on the top of the tank. If those two things we’re included I’d give 5 stars all day!
