XDP High Output Alternator (New) XD224

Hello, I received my package on Friday, 5 June 2026 from XDP containing my XD 224 alternator. Upon opening the box, I observed damage to the item and took pictures and immediately contacted customer service via text; however never heard back, and it’s been one week. The main damage was to one of the mounting ears on the alternator. The damage to the mounting ear looks like someone may have attempted to install this new alternator previously and used a hammer or pry bar to install the alternator. The remainder of the damage was confined to scratches and marks to the alternator case. I paid for a new alternator and I am hoping that I was not sent an alternator that was previously used or returned as an exchange item. Also, the box which contained the alternator was at least 4 times larger than the alternator itself. Only a few pieces of crumpled paper were included inside the box for packing material,, which is insufficient to protect the alternator from shipping damage, particularly if shipping from NJ to California, as was the case for my shipment. Given that the alternator was not adequately protected for shipping, I am hoping there is no internal damage to the alternator itself, or its main shaft and pulley but won’t know until it is installed. I realize that I have the option to return the alternator and exchange for another one, but I need my truck to be operational immediately, and I've already been without transportation for a week now while waiting on the new alternator to arrive. Therefore, I plan to install the new alternator this weekend. However, I wanted to go on record to let you know the above and also ask if XDP is interested in offering any compensation.

My original 2006 alternator died and killed my batteries while I was out of the country. When I got back, I knew I wanted a more powerful replacement as I have some aftermarket electrical equipment on my truck. This was super easy to swap in and runs perfectly smoothly. Super happy with it and the experience ordering through this company.

Arrivrd on time but the plastic electrical connector was broken. At least it still had the locking tab, so I installed it. Was a tight fit in the bracket but ir works. Will see how long it lasts.

OEM 145A alternator finally gave up after 20 years of continuous service. SO I figured I'd try out this 220A alternator. Easy replacement. So far, so good. Less than a month of usage in brutal cold winters here in the northeast. Seems to be charging well. I hope it lasts as long as OEM AC DELCO did.

Great alternator until the warranty is up, didn't even last 6 months after that...

Ordered this to replace my stock alternator that went out. Had to shave the mount point on one side because it would not fit, but not a big deal. Once it was in there, it worked perfectly. My only complaint is the packaging. The alternator was just placed in a box with some paper around it, so the alternator rolled around. The plastic cover on the back was broken on one side when I opened it up. Didn’t affect the function so I didn’t want to send it back and wait for a different one. That’s my only complaint. Otherwise would have given 5 stars.
