The XD224 is designed to increase reliability and output of your charging system to alleviate the strain of aftermarket upgrades. With a 220 Amp output, this alternator almost doubles the factory output. This gives you the ability to get the most out of your charging system whether you're out plowing snow, or at an event showing off stereo system upgrades.
The XDP High Output Alternator (New) XD224 is a direct bolt-on replacement and requires no modifications for installation. Each alternator comes pre-tested and is ready for installation.

Arrivrd on time but the plastic electrical connector was broken. At least it still had the locking tab, so I installed it. Was a tight fit in the bracket but ir works. Will see how long it lasts.

Great product, poor packaging

Ordered this to replace my stock alternator that went out. Had to shave the mount point on one side because it would not fit, but not a big deal. Once it was in there, it worked perfectly. My only complaint is the packaging. The alternator was just placed in a box with some paper around it, so the alternator rolled around. The plastic cover on the back was broken on one side when I opened it up. Didn’t affect the function so I didn’t want to send it back and wait for a different one. That’s my only complaint. Otherwise would have given 5 stars.

Havnt had the opportunity to run it yet. I'm sure it'll run fine, but the install didn't go well. The mounts were too wide and I had to shave them down with my grinder to fit it in between the mounting bracket of my truck. Wasn't that big a deal for me but could be for someone else. Time will tell but right now its working pretty well. It gets between 14.3 - 14.5 and bounces around there. It did go in easily. I have a single alternator motor. Good upgrade from stock

High performance alternator

Product was shipped and delivered very quick. I have not tested it yet but it was in a well contained box and is brand new with an XDP diesel performance sticker on it. The reason for 4 stars is because when I took the old one out and put this one in it was definitely a lot harder than I thought it would be. Took some more grunt strength to get it seated properly which allowed the bolts to thread in easy. I found that it was easier to put grease on the outside of the holes to allow it to slide in the bracket easier and that worked for me!
