Airaid Intake Systems

Founded in 1997, AIRAID advanced the automotive aftermarket industry by introducing the AIRAID intake system. The first AIRAID cold air intake combined an open-element cotton gauze filter with an intake tube to produce an innovative, easy-to-install intake kit. The AIRAID intake dramatically increased air flow, horsepower, and torque while improving overall engine performance. AIRAID’s engineering team consists of mechanical and industrial design engineers using the latest 3-D CAD modeling equipment to produce advanced designs that make more power right out of the box. A portable 3-D scanner and rapid prototyping machine allow them to test new products on their in-house Superflow flow bench. Each AIR RAID cold air intake is then tested on their all-wheel-drive Mustang chassis dynamometer to produce real-world performance numbers.

AIRAID Cold Air Intake

AIRAID manufactures a wide range of intake systems with oiled and dry filter media for the most popular makes and models. Both dry and oiled air filters are washable and reusable and generally can go 30,000 to 50,000 miles before needing to be cleaned. The air filters in these intake systems are shielded by heat as Airaid uses enclosed-style boxes that keep out the hot air in the engine bay. Most intake systems utilize a black cross-linked, high-density polyethylene (HDPE) for the inlet tube as it is very resistant to heat soak and offers smooth bends. All boots, couplers, and high-quality clamps needed for mounting these intakes under the hood are included to ensure a straightforward installation.

AIRAID Filters

AIRAID air filters are available in a choice of SynthaFlow and SynthaMax filter media. Both filters are some of the most efficient in the industry based on laboratory testing. A principal component of diesel performance is airflow and AIRAID delivers without sacrificing filtration and superior filtration and flow are what makes AIRAID Premium filters high quality. AIRAID Premium Filters consist of multiple layers of cotton gauze plus one layer of synthetic fiber material called SynthaFlow, sandwiched between either stainless steel or aluminum mesh, depending upon the application. SynthaFlow enhances dirt filtration down to two microns and is moisture resistant. The casing of each AIRAID filter is hand-poured urethane, which offers superior performance & durability and won't shrink or crack from prolonged heat exposure under the hood.
