Offering high-quality MLS (Multi-Layer Steel) and MLX (Multi-Layer Xtreme) gaskets to fit the needs of your engine, Cometic has the nest gasket to fit your needs. MLS Gaskets are manufactured from multiple embossed layers of uncoated stainless steel and AMP (Advanced Multi-Polymer Coating). The embossed outer layers of the gaskets meet the requirements of a variety of harsh sealing conditions, loads, and mounting surfaces. These gaskets require less clamp load resulting in less bore distortion and help conform load distribution across the sealing surface. The center or shim layer is an uncoated stainless-steel layer that can be adapted to accommodate multiple thickness requirements. The MLX Gaskets use the same materials as the MLS gaskets but feature an integrated “stopper” layer for combustion chamber sealing. This layer enhances the clamp load around the cylinder bore without increasing bore distortion. Both the MLS and MLX gaskets do not require sealants or re-torquing once installed.
