The result of a rigorous R&D period, this powerful fuel treatment increases overall fuel system performance in freezing weather conditions.
XDP Polar-D is the perfect cold weather treatment that allows the use of number two diesel fuel year-round. Polar-D® prevents common fuel problems related to cold climates, such as gelling and freeze-up. These issues are addressed by using wax modifiers that help prevent the formation of ice crystals, which prevents filter plugging. Polar-D contains special water-converting agents that address fuel system freeze up and prevent free or emulsified water from freezing. XDP Polar-D is enhanced with cetane to improve combustion and cold starting to help restore power and efficiency.
5% CETANE INCREASE
The national Cetane number average is 45, so the added cetane means your diesel operates more efficiently. Fuels with a higher cetane number have shorter ignition delays which provides more time for the fuel combustion process to be completed. Higher speed (RPM) diesels operate more effectively with higher cetane number fuels.

Directions:
Add prior to filling fuel tank to assure proper mixing.
Treats as follows to lower the Cold Filter Plug Point (CFPP). This could be as high as 10ºF - 15ºF depending on fuel quality.

I’m switching to a different additive because I’ve gelled up 2 years in a row now. 2 different vehicles, 2 different fuel stations, and I get left stranded. Winter blend at Casey’s 1 year with this additive, and Cenex 50/50 this year, not even below 0, and my pickup didn’t make it very far before it lost fuel pressure. New AirDog lift pump and new high-pressure pump, as well as new injectors, so I’m fairly certain it’s not a fuel system issue, but more likely the fuel itself. I’m adding a fuel heater and switching to a different additive because it’s frustrating being unable to trust my diesel pickup in these cooler winter temps.

I am still on the first tank of fuel so it may be too early to tell how well this fuel additive works. It also hasn't gotten really cold yet but there does seem to be a reduction in cold start clatter which I was hoping for. My order was quickly filled and arrived promptly. If I had anything that I might change it would be having the option to buy a case, not looking for a 'case discount' but I could have easily ordered a few more or less bottles and had the product arrive as packaged by the manufacturer rather than a number of bottles in a plastic bag, in a loose-fitting box. It would have been easier to keep them in my truck that way as well. I do have to say that the bottles all arrived in fine condition and nothing leaked, the case idea just occurred to me as I was unpacking the bottle and thinking about having 10 of them sliding around in my truck.

I have been using the winter formula for over six years in my 2500 HD Duramax. The temperatures here in Vermont will drop to 20 to 30 below zero, I never had a problem with the fuel gelling or not starting. Awesome product. And I also use their summer blend that is totally awesome, highly recommended.

Fuel gelling problem at 30 below zero I was recently in temperatures of 30 below zero F. with my Dodge 3500 with 5.9L Cummins. I used one ounce of XDP polar formula per 30 gallons of fuel. My fuel line froze up and I had a heck of a time getting it running. What is the amount of XDP Polar needed in 30 gallons of fuel to prevent gelling at 30 below zero?
Diesel fuel can begin to cloud around 32ºF and gelling can begin as high as 10ºF - 15ºF (depending on fuel quality and location). Gelling of your fuel is often referred to as the CFPP (Cold Filter Plugging Point). With just 1oz of our Polar-D additive in 8 gallons of fuel you can lower the CFPP by at least 10ºF. (Add prior to filling the fuel tank to assure proper mixing)\
*Keep in mind that our fuel additive is designed to help reduce the problems associated with diesel fuels in extreme temps and extend the temperature rang in which a vehicle can operate. What is the "shelf life" of a new bottle of XPD -D polar? On occasion I run up to MN in the winter and would like to keep in my truck. Will summer heat (Texas) decrease the efficiency of the product?
