XDP's HD Gear Reduction Starters feature a motor that is quick and efficient that gives you the torque you need to reliably and consistently start your engine. Each starter comes pre-tested, ready for installation, and features a durable "Wrinkle Black" finish for corrosion resistance and enhanced aesthetics.

Tech Notes:
Depending on the conditions, a starter can pull up to 500 amps. These levels of amperage stress ALL components in the circuit including cables, terminals, batteries, and more. Problems with these components can be difficult to diagnose as they appear fine at rest and under a light load, but generate high resistance under heavy amperage draws. This results in low voltage to the starter while cranking, causing heavier amperage draw, and increased heat leading to starter failure. Batteries, cables and additional components should be checked and serviced regularly. Voltage measured at the starter during cranking should always be above 11V DC. Starter heat shields are not required, but are an excellent idea for heat protection

Wasn’t sure if going to the 6.7 would be any different for the 6.0 when going with this XDP gear reduction starter, between XDP's starters. I went with this starter just from everything I’ve watched and read. This starter spins stupid fast. From the time my wrist turns to the cylinders doing the work, it’s almost instantaneous. There’s just enough cranks you can hear to tell how much faster it is. I love it. The finish on it is definitely tough and seems like it will hold up great. Time will tell on the way, but it’s XDP! If there’s ever a problem, they’ll take care of me and fix it. This thing is just badass. I bought the conversion bolt kit on Amazon. It’s one bolt and a bronze bushing.

Had an issue with it not working, but it had a warranty, so I had to purchase another one in order to get the warranty then return for a refund and dot he job a second time. Had issues within a week. Welp, hopefully this replacement works and lasts a long time.
