Tech Notes:
Depending on the conditions, a starter can pull up to 500 amps. These levels of amperage stress ALL components in the circuit including cables, terminals, batteries, and more. Problems with these components can be difficult to diagnose as they appear fine at rest and under a light load, but generate high resistance under heavy amperage draws. This results in low voltage to the starter while cranking, causing heavier amperage draw, and increased heat leading to starter failure. Batteries, cables and additional components should be checked and serviced regularly. Voltage measured at the starter during cranking should always be above 11V DC. Starter heat shields are not required, but are an excellent idea for heat protection.

Bad Starter and Worse Customer Service

Putting a cummins in a tahoe and put this on. Bad decision. Main motor feed wire completely exposed, insulation dry rotting completely off after 6 months of being bolted onto the truck.. hadn't even been wired in yet. They wouldnt send me a new one, acted like it wasn't their issue, and then wanted me to pay for shipping it back. So I basically pay a fee for their shotty workmanship

Terrible customer service. I ordered the first starter through Power Driven Diesel, it arrived, non-working. XDP would not swap it out. I had to submit it into the warranty department and I had to pay shipping to get starter #2.

Great product. Had some fitment issues the first time due to my truck being a stick, but David was able to get with his team and help me get the adapter kit and this starter, which so far runs well. Only thing I would change is the fitment guide to remind people if they have a manual that they need that adapter/spacer, and put it as a might also need this etc.
