Tech Notes:
Depending on the conditions, a starter can pull up to 500 amps. These levels of amperage stress ALL components in the circuit including cables, terminals, batteries, and more. Problems with these components can be difficult to diagnose as they appear fine at rest and under a light load, but generate high resistance under heavy amperage draws. This results in low voltage to the starter while cranking, causing heavier amperage draw, and increased heat leading to starter failure. Batteries, cables and additional components should be checked and serviced regularly. Voltage measured at the starter during cranking should always be above 11V DC. Starter heat shields are not required, but are an excellent idea for heat protection.

I just installed this starter two days ago, so my review is somewhat limited. It installed just like it's supposed to. There were no issues with fitment. It's actually really close in size of the stock starter.
I like the rino liner like coating that covers the starter. Not sure if it adds to durability, but it looks cool. I will say the whole buying experience with XDP has been great. I won't hesitate to do business with this company in the future. Order# 2211533

Works great. Did a full rebuild on my Dodge Diesel engine and my old starter had a broken tooth on the starter gear and a bolt had broken off inside the trans adaptor plate, so I didn’t hesitate to look for an upgrade knowing it needed to be replaced. Haven’t had any issue, it turns the engine over no problem with the big odyssey extreme batteries and brand new battery cables. Would recommend to anyone replacing their starter.
