The 73Dipstick Oil Dipstick Repair Adapter Kit 110448 is a permanent repair for the leaking oil pan in your Ford 7.3L Powerstroke or Navistar 7.3L T444E. The leak at the dipstick flange is a well-known problem with the 7.3 Powerstroke engine. The leak is caused by the factory O-ring mounted inside the adapter expanding over time due to exposure to oil. As the seal swells, it deforms the adapter's inner component, causing the outer nut to become loose.

Some people will attempt to temporarily stop the leak by tightening the nut, but this will only cause the inner piece to become more deformed. Removing the pan and replacing the entire unit from the inside of the pan is the factory repair for this leak. This is an expensive and time-consuming repair.
