The pressure of the pump is preset for the 5.9L 24 Valve Cummins engine at 14/16 PSI. The Raptor™ FRRP-100, a gerotor fuel pump, features an adjustable pressure regulator, but in most cases adjustments will only be necessary if fuel modifications require you to do so.
The AirDog R3SBD100 Factory Replacement 100GPH Raptor Pump (FRRP) would be more than enough.
AirDog and AirDog II 100 units are recommended for up to 500 horsepower.
AirDog 150 and AirDog II 165 units are recommended for horsepower up to 800.
AirDog II 200 units are recommended for anything that exceeds 1000 horsepower.
This pump is not for trucks that have had the intake pump conversion performed. Please look into the R2SBD355 which is specifically for trucks that have had the in-tank pump conversion installed already. It includes all the components necessary for installation.
The AIRDOG R3SBD100 FACTORY REPLACEMENT 100GPH RAPTOR PUMP (FRRP) is compatible with all 1998.5-2002 Dodge 5.9L Cummins (Stock To Moderate) that still have a factory lift pump mounted to the driver’s side of the engine block. If the lift pump has been relocated (retro-fitted) into the fuel tank, this unit will not work.
Best bet is to add a fuel pressure gauge so that you can ensure the pressure is set to the recommended value.
