While many VP44's on the market are rebuilt with inferior quality components, this pump has been remanufactured to the most stringent specifications using only the most recent OE parts. This 245HP (High Output) pump is a stock horsepower replacement for 2000-2002 6-speed trucks with the 245HP engine.
A VP44 fuel pump can fail for many
reasons. Using a low-quality or contaminated fuel can begin to cause
corrosion and wear on the pump’s internals. If water, dirt, or debris
enters the pump it can ultimately lead to pump failure. Exposure to any
of these contaminants can gradually diminish the life span of the pump.
This can be more common on a truck that was not regularly maintained
following the manufacturers recommended maintenance schedule (with fuel
and oil filter changes performed at the recommended intervals). In
addition, if the fuel pressure drops below 10psi or if the engine is
running hot, it can cause overheating of the pump. Besides any internal
wear from overheating, this can also do damage to pump’s electronics and
internal components. Electrical issues such as wiring problems, faulty
sensors, and other electrical issues can also cause a pump to begin
malfunctioning.

The VP44 fuel injection pump is a critical component of the 5.9L 24-Valve
diesel engine. It is responsible for pressurizing the fuel and
distributing it to each cylinder. However they can eventually fail over
time. One of the most common signs of VP44 injection pump failure is a
loss of power. Other symptoms include rough idling, stalling, difficulty starting the engine, and excessive smoke. If you notice any of these symptoms or have a corresponding DTC code on the dashboard, your VP44 pump could
be failing.

Pros: Great product came with new seals and lock nut and washer, installed easily and worked like new. Cons: it leaked from a plug so whatever fluids were in there ate away at the black paint on half of it. Didn’t ruin the performance of it and it arrived day late what do you expect with the winter weather. I’ve bought XDP before love there products still gonna give them 5 stars for performance 💪

I have the stock vp44, will the H/O one fit? Fit as in "bolt right in"? (2000 Ram 3500 dually
You must run the proper output with your truck. If your truck is a 2000-2002 Standard output, you will not benefit any from this pump. We also only accept pump cores that are like for like. We will not accept a standard output core from someone that has purchased a high output pump.
