The ball studs offered are made from SAE 4140 Hot Forged Chromoly for optimal metallurgy. The induction heat treatment process used provides precise heat treatment to the ball studs at exact depths and locations. Polished ball studs have anti-friction bearings with precise tolerances. Rolled threads are used for added strength by pressing the shape of the threads into the ball stud instead of cutting. Step threads allow for easy hardware movement on installation and superior holding when torqued.

The upper carbon-bearing design is ideal for Jeep and Dodge upper ball joints. The lower military-grade acetal bearing material is specified by the US military for Hummer ball joints due to its stability, anti-friction properties, and durability. CR rubber boots are used to resist deterioration from road-level ozone, oil/gas/engine fluids, and extreme temperatures. The internal seal boot is coined onto the ball joint for superior sealing against contaminants. The upper has a durable e-coat treatment, while the lower has a double-coated phosphate finish for a rugged look.
