The Banks Power 42132 Ram-Air Intake System provides greater airflow, air density, and power to the engine in your 2001-2004 GM 6.6L Duramax LB7. Its large oiled air filter requires fewer cleanings than competitive filters, including the stock's small paper filter which is not reusable. With its massive 7-1/8 outlet, streamlined components, and enclosed cold-air box that keeps hot engine air out of the intake, this intake flows up to 57% better than stock. This can provide your truck with up to +39 hp and +69 lb-ft more than a tuner alone, help improve mileage, lower EGTs, and create less black smoke. Black smoke is an indicator of unburned fuel and is the lost potential power.
The Banks Power 42132 Ram-Air Intake System starts as a CAD software prototype and is put through flow simulations until the simulation shows optimal performance. Then a hardware prototype is constructed into a prototype and the design is validated on a flowbench, which is then dyno-tested and on-vehicle-tested. The Banks' unique 4-1/2" bellows accommodate engine movement, which prevents component damage and prolongs service life. This intake is also designed not to cause any faults or error codes.
Banks Optional Super-Scoop
Banks exclusive Super-Scoop is an add-on product to the Ram-Air Intake System. Super-Scoop connects below the front bumper, forcing a big charge of cool, pressurized ram air into the Ram-Air Intake's air filter housing. Because the air is drawn from outside the engine compartment, it has greater density and makes more power than warmer engine air. Rainwater and debris are funneled out of the bottom. Sold separately (see Related Items below).

Installation Tech Tip:
The Mass Air Flow (MAF) Sensor is mounted in the intake tube of the air intake system. During installation of a cold air intake, the MAF must be removed and moved over. While replacement of a functioning MAF sensor is not necessary, it is considered a good practice to inspect, clean, or replace the sensor (if needed) whenever it's removed.

The Banks Power 42132 Ram-Air Intake System was designed to fit the 2500-3500 light duty pickups and will not fit the heavy duty 4500-5500 applications.

The BANKS POWER 42132 RAM-AIR INTAKE SYSTEM is not compatible with any parts of the factory intake system. In order to install the BANKS POWER 42132 RAM-AIR INTAKE SYSTEM you will have to completely remove the factory intake system and install the BANKS POWER 42132 RAM-AIR INTAKE SYSTEM.
