The Choate Reman 6.0 Long Block Crate Engine (20MM Dowels) - Daily Driver is the perfect solution for daily drivers needing a dependable engine. This remanufactured 6.0L Powerstroke engine is designed to meet the high expectations of every driver.
Choate Engineering ensures engine cleanliness and reliability through full CNC blueprint machining, including boring, decking, honing, and line honing. Cylinder bores are blueprint bored to a precise 90 degrees from the crankshaft centerline, then diamond honed to within .0002 inches, ensuring accurate piston-to-cylinder clearances. The main bore is honed for perfect crankshaft alignment, while the cylinder block is surfaced to an RA finish of 30 or lower, guaranteeing proper sealing with MLS gaskets.
Both the crankshaft and camshaft are polished, inspected, and
balanced within strict tolerances - .0005 concentricity or less for the
crankshaft. The assembly is supported by new rod, main, and cam
bearings, as well as new rod bushings for added durability. The engine
also includes new OE lifters, lifter guides, crank flange bolts, and
updated OE pushrods.
Key components of this engine include new connecting rods that are blueprint bored with new bushings, a new harmonic damper and flexplate, and a balanced and matched rotational assembly. The engine also features new upgraded pistons, rings, and pin retainers, all weight-matched before crank balancing for optimal performance.
To ensure long-term reliability, new rear main seals, bed seals, rear cover gaskets, and upper and lower oil pan gaskets are installed, along with pickup tube O-rings. The engine is completed with new freeze plugs, injector cups, and a rear cover, making it ready for installation.

Choate Long Block Note:
Long
Block engines typically consist of a short block with cylinder heads
and are ready for the final buildup. This long block does
not include bolt-on components such as front
cover, valve covers, intake, exhaust, fuel system, or turbo components.
These items will need to be changed over from your existing engine or
purchased new, and installed onto your new Choate Long Block before
installation into your truck.
