DFC’S remanufactured Short Block Crate engine is an outstanding option for any daily driver, diesel enthusiast, or work truck that needs to replace the engine in their 2004.5-2005 GM 6.6L Duramax LLY Kodiak/Topkick. To ensure that every engine is built to the same high quality standards, DFC uses only the best cores and rejects components that require considerable "restoring". Every Duramax engine that DFC rebuilds come with an EDM oil pump shaft with a hardened dowel installed to prevent slipping and the risk of oil pressure loss. DFC uses state of the art Rottler machining equipment that allows DFC to build tighter and more precise tolerances than OEM specifications. DFC’s strict remanufacturing process makes sure their engines will last for years to come.
Engine Remanufacturing
The DFC short block is machined with almost identical weight piston and connecting rod assemblies to help you get a smoother running engine that makes less noise and is more balanced. DFC short blocks include reinforced internals with new pistons, rings, doweled oil pump, bearings, and rods.
