The DFC Diesel Remanufactured KORE Series 6.6 LLY Long Block Crate Engine (With Callies Crankshaft) from XDP is a cost-effective
replacement for the failed engine in your 2004.5-2005 GM 6.6L Duramax LLY
equipped pickup truck. It is designed to meet the needs of Chevy/GMC
owners who want a high-quality engine but have a tighter budget. These
engines are built to the same high standards and quality as DFC's
regular engines. They also include upgrades to the common failure areas.
The KORE Series is a more affordable option because it does not include
many components that can be re-used from your existing engine or easily
sourced by the end user.
Engine Remanufacturing:
DFC
engines are built utilizing some of the most advanced machining
equipment in North America. This Rottler equipment helps ensure the
engines feature tolerances that are better than OEM specifications. In
addition, the Kore Series features all new pistons, rings, bearings,
gaskets, seals, valves, springs, hardened seats, stem seals, and cast
guides. Engines come standard with Total Seal Gapless Piston Rings and
incorporate improved gasket sealing methods in common leakage areas.
Callies Crankshaft:
The
included Compstar-Durastar crankshaft from Callies features a Deep
DuraCase nitride treatment that enhances durability and wear. Rod
journals are drilled for reduced inertia and ease of balance. All
journals feature True Form fillet radii and the timing gear is keyed to
prevent shearing. These journals are also polished to a 6Ra or finer
finish. The stroke is 3.898" with OEM journal diameters and width.
Callies constructs this crankshaft through hardened 4340 steel. The
damper fit is dual keyed. This crankshaft accepts OEM post and flange
bolts in addition to OEM flywheels/flexplates. The main bearing oil
holes have lead-ins for enhanced cold start oil flow to rod journals.
DFC 6.6L Long Block Engines Include:
Complete short block assembly and gaskets, plus cylinder heads. A complete top end gasket kit is included to finish install.

New Engine Checklist (Replacement Items, Sold Separately):
Oil Cooler - highly recommended and mandatory if your past engine had a bearing failure.
Injectors - highly recommended especially on higher mileage engines or engines with contaminated fuel.
Turbocharger - recommended if mileage over 125K miles, mandatory if shaft play is present, or if engine was dusted.
Water Pump - highly recommended if engine has over 125K miles.
Evans
Waterless Coolant - recommended upgrade to prevent corrosion, boil
over, and all-around a better cooling system performance.
Application Notes:
Does
not include: front cover, rear cover, oil pump, upper oil pan, lower
oil pan, oil pickup tube, rocker arms, pushrods, valve bridges, and
other regular items that normally ship with long block engines.
The
specific brand of each component may change due to part availability at
the time of each build. Parts are chosen at the discretion of DFC and
cannot be specially requested.
