The DFC Diesel Remanufactured 6.6 L5P Long Block Crate Engine is a dependable replacement for the failed engine in your GMC Sierra or Chevrolet Silverado. DFC makes important improvements during the remanufacturing process to ensure longevity, even in high horsepower applications. DFC uses Rottler machining equipment to ensure precise tolerances that exceed OEM specifications, resulting in a more efficient and longer lasting engine.
Engine Remanufacturing
The
DFC short block is machined with near identical weight piston and
connecting rod assemblies to help you get a smoother running engine that
makes less noise and is more balanced. DFC short blocks include
reinforced internals with new pistons, rings, doweled oil pump,
bearings, and rods.
Cylinder Head
Unlike
some other engine builders in the industry that re-use wearing items
like valves and valves guides, DFC installs all new valves from high
quality sources like MAHLE or SBI and replaces each valve guide with a
new cast guide in every cylinder head. To address common cracking areas
in the cylinder head, DFC also machines each head to remove the factory
hardened seat material. DFC then installs new SBI valve seats to help
eliminate premature cracking, giving you a more durable cylinder head.
DFC 6.6L Long Block Includes:
Complete
short block with the front cover with seal, rear cover with main seal,
oil pan, all new internal components, cylinder heads with all rockers
and pushrods installed, doweled oil pump gear, and woodruff keyed cam shaft.

New Engine Checklist (Replacement Items - Sold Separately):
Oil Cooler - highly recommended and mandatory if your past engine had a bearing failure.
Injectors - highly recommended especially on higher model engines or engines with contaminated fuel.
Turbocharger - recommended if mileage over 125K, mandatory if shaft play, or if engine was dusted.
Water Pump - highly recommended if engine has over 125K.
Evans Waterless Coolant - recommended upgrade to prevent corrosion and boilover.
Application Note:
Top end gaskets, injector return Line seal kit, and turbocharger gasket kit not included.
It is the customer's responsibility to ensure that the injectors, injection pumps, and fuel system are professionally tested, cleaned, and replaced if necessary.
The
specific brand of each component may change due to part availability at
the time of each build. Parts are chosen at the discretion of DFC and
cannot be specially requested. DFC uses only the best components sourced
from multiple brands during the remanufacturing process.

Crate charge is included in core charge total. Engine shipping crate
must be returned with core engine to receive full core credit.
