Description

The DFC Street Series Engines are a part of DFC's Flagship line of products. The Street Series is built for the work truck owner, daily driver, and diesel enthusiast who wants a quality rebuild. This engine is a great alternative to replacing your entire truck. During the remanufacturing process, DFC makes improvements that help your engine maintain durability and reliability, even with applications with added horsepower. Each engine is built using state-of-the-art Rottler equipment. These precision machines ensure that your engine is built to tolerances that are tighter than OEM specifications for a more efficient and longer lasting engine.


Engine Remanufacturing: 

DFC engines are built utilizing some of the most advanced machining equipment in North America. This Rottler equipment helps ensure the engines feature tolerances that are better than OEM specifications. The DFC long block is machined with near identical weight piston and connecting rod assemblies to help you get a smoother running engine that makes less noise and is more balanced. DFC long blocks include reinforced internals with new pistons, rings, valves, springs, doweled oil pump, bearings, and rods. 

Cylinder Head:

Unlike some other engine builders in the industry that re-use wearing items like valves and valves guides, DFC installs all new valves from high quality sources like MAHLE or SBI and replaces each valve guide with a new cast guide in every cylinder head. To address common cracking areas in the cylinder head, DFC also machines each head to remove the factory hardened seat material. DFC then installs new SBI valve seats to help eliminate premature cracking, giving you a more durable cylinder head.

Upgraded Fasteners:

DFC Street Series engines come standard with Head Studs to give you peace of mind that your new engine won't fail like an OE Ford engine due to head gasket issues. Not only does DFC use Head Studs to keep the heads in place they also replace the factory connecting rod bolts with upgraded fasteners when assembling the bottom end of your 6.0 Powerstroke engine to ensure that you have an engine that is more dependable than the original.

Street Series 6.0L Long Block Includes:

The DFC Long Block has all rockers and pushrods preset to factory specifications and includes a remanufactured cylinder head, internal components, front & rear cover, oil pan, and the complete gasket kit for long block installation.

New Engine Checklist & Things You Need To Know:
  • New Oil Cooler - Required For Warranty (Sold Separately)
  • New Filters - Air, Oil, Fuel - Required For Warranty (Sold Separately)
  • New Water Pump - Required For Warranty (Sold Separately)
  • New Lubricating Oil - Required For Warranty (Sold Separately)
  • Injectors - highly recommended especially on higher model engines or engines with contaminated fuel. 
  • Turbocharger - recommended if mileage over 125K, mandatory if shaft play, or if engine was dusted. 
  • Evans Waterless Coolant - recommended upgrade to prevent corrosion and boilover. 
  • Long Block engines typically consist of a short block with cylinder heads and are ready for the final buildup.
  • This long block does not include bolt-on components such as the valve covers, intake, exhaust, fuel system, or turbo components. 
  • The parts above must be swapped over from your existing engine and then installed on your new DFC Long Block.
  • Engine Warranty Is Void If Not Installed With The Correct Fluids as Specified By The Manufacturer.
  • Top end gaskets, injector return Line seal kit, and turbocharger gasket kit not included. 
  • The specific brand of each component may change due to part availability at the time of each build. 
  • Parts are chosen at the discretion of DFC and cannot be specially requested. 
  • DFC uses only the best components sourced from multiple brands during the remanufacturing process.

I purchased my long block and had it professionally installed. After just 15K miles, it developed a knock in the lower part of the engine. Unfortunately, I was on a trip towing my 5th wheel and 300 miles from home. I needed a new engine now. The only offer short of “send us the engine and we’ll get back to you” which would surely take months, was that I could buy a new engine from DFC, send them the old, and then they'd determine if it’s a warranty failure or not. Considering the numerous negative Google reviews from others in a similar situation as I, I was not confident they would find in my favor, and I’d effectively be stuck with two undependable engines and be out nearly $20K after buying two engines and paying labor charges. Thus, I’ve decided to buy an engine from Jasper who is in the USA where I will have some legal recourse if I have further issues. I’m not even willing to risk losing another $2500 by paying Jasper's core charge and sending DFC the bad engine because at most, they'd simply send me a replacement for which I’d have no use. So, congratulations DFC Diesel. You win!

DO NOT RECOMMEND THESE ENGINES!

The warranty is not what it appears. They only cover $2000 in labor at a maximum rate of $50 per hour. Both values are ridiculously low in today's pricing climate. Frist the crap left in the engine from manufacturing, plugged up my oil cooler in under a 1000 miles. That cost $1600 to fix and I didn't submit a claim to them suspecting they would not cover anyway. Then the engine suffered a head gasket failure before 15,000 miles of use. Labor to repair was over $4800, 38 hours at $125 per hour. I spoke with DFC before repairing and was told to send in the warranty form with Servicers analysis of the failure and estimate of cost and they would process the claim. They never mentioned we had to wait for them to approve before proceeding. Now that work is completed they are denying the claim because the didn't approve beforehand. Even if they do the right thing and accept the claim, I'm out $2800 to repair their crap after less than 15,000 miles. XDP was great during the purchase, but I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT.
