Description
Add the Driven Diesel DD-DMX-PS-KIT Power Steering Line Kit from XDP and upgrade your 2001-2010 GM Silverado/Sierra 2500HD/3500HD 6.6L Duramax (With Hydroboost Braking System). The factory power steering hoses in the hydroboost equipped 2001-2010 Chevy/GMC Duramax trucks are notorious for leaks. Many of the available replacements for these hoses have not been improved, with some of of them starting to leak again not long after installation. Driven Diesel decided to produce a completely new set of replacement power steering hoses that addresses the problems with the OEM parts.
The Driven Diesel power steering hose assemblies are not only manufactured from superior materials, but were also designed to be easier to install and serviceable in the unlikely event of a leak. Unlike the factory design, the hydraulic hose is no longer permanently attached to the tubing sections, one of the major downfalls of the stock lines. Instead, the Driven Diesel tubing sections have been fitted with AN fittings, making the hydraulic hose portion of the line removeable and replaceable. This aids installation by allowing the tubing sections to be installed independently of the hose and allows replacement of the hydraulic hose without having to purchase the expensive tubing sections again. Featuring Stainless Steel tubing sections, these hoses are rated for
4,000 psi working pressure. Best of all, the hose bends are patterned after the OEM
hoses providing a factory fit.

This is a very nice kit. Gets rid of the factory leak prone lines. Went together very nice. Build quality is great. The lost star is because I think the rubber parts are about an inch too long to work nicely with the hard pieces. I had to kind of force them into place if they were both about an inch shorter they would have lined up perfectly without fighting with them to not push on stuff around them.

Found these looking for help/tips for removing and installing the hydro pressure line. I bought the OEM one. Original set lasted 16 years and 172,000 miles so I figured an out one was good enough. After spending 3 hours on it and only managing to get one fitting off, I put it all back together cuz darkness was upon me and I had places to be. Searched for some info but not even YouTube had any more info. Then I found this set from Driven Diesel and looked at their instructions and had a couple of "ah-hah!" moments and bought the set. With this set and the instructions I had the whole thing done in about 5 hours. After my first attempt, I had budgetted two full days for it from the wife. Really good quality set, that along with the instructions made the removal and install MUCH easier for this older back yard mechanic. Saved me about $1000 if I could have even found someone around here besides the dealer that would have done it.

The quality of this Driven Diesel steering line kit is exceptional. The reason for the 3 star rating is the price of the kit. Stock GM replacement hoses would of cost me around a 1/3 of this kit. That being said my hopes are that I'll never have to replace these hoses again. If that's the case the extra cost will be worth it.
